NOW in the Training Workshop #MarineData4Baltic

Online Training Workshop to share applications of the Copernicus Marine Service products in ecosystem monitoring studies and to focus on the main marine and regional challenges

Online, 2-4 October, 2024 – NOW in the Copernicus Marine Training Workshop #MarineData4Baltic

Álvaro de Pascual Collar and Stefania Ciliberti participate as trainers in the training workshops that Copernicus Marine Service offers for promoting the usage of marine data for downstream applications and services. As a contribution to the courses, they present practical cases using QGIS, Python and R.

On October 2rd and 4th, 2024, the webinar "Marine Data 4 Baltic Sea" will take place. During the event, the instructors will discuss and demonstrate how to use Copernicus products (both models and observations) applied to wave energy resource assessment. On October 4th, two practical sessions will be presented, featuring three hands-on exercises for wave energy resource assessment in the Baltic Sea using QGIS, Python, and R:

  • 10:35 am - 11:05 AM · Álvaro de Pascual - Jupyter Notebook Tutorial + Q&A: "How to estimate the total available wave energy, study of the wave energy resource".
  • 11:15 am - 11:45 AM · Stefania Ciliberti - QGIS Tutorial + Q&A: "Study of the environmental impacts of wave power installations".
  • 11:45 am - 12:15 PM · Álvaro de Pascual - R Studio Tutorial + Q&A: "How to estimate the total available wave energy, study of the wave energy resource".

Registration and participation are free and can be done through the following link.
